Celebrating Our Brilliant Team

To mark Employee Appreciation Day, which was held on 1st March this year, Citywire New Model Adviser put together a post sharing how firms show their gratitude for their team. We were honoured to be asked to contribute and took the opportunity to reflect on the invaluable contributions of our team members.

Here is what our HR Manager, Dawn Hubbard, had to say:

How does your firm promote a healthy work culture?

We understand and embrace the impact that a great manager has on the employee experience, and their level of engagement, so we have built a strong and supportive leadership team who are guided by a set of collective principles to ensure that they are models, leading the way, are clear on our vision and bring clarity, are approachable, empathetic, share vulnerability, empower others to act and create a safe space and foster trust.

We’ve also conducted a poll to measure the effectiveness of our company values by asking 64 of our employees to tell us ‘How relevant they feel the company values are to [them]?’ with an average overall score of 9 out of 10, which is an incredibly high score and we are immensely proud of this achievement.

What do you appreciate most about the people who work for you?

It is simply impossible to pick just one thing as we appreciate a combination of their dedication, positive attitude, adaptability, creativity, passion, sense of community, teamwork and kindness. There is a very real sense of camaraderie.

How do the people you work with help to make your firm successful?

Our business success is dependent on our talented people. We are successful through a combination of their hard work and dedication, that they remember to always keep our clients at the heart of what we do, and by honouring these deep connections, acting with integrity and being the best at what they do. Everyone understands the pivotal role they play in delivering our service.

How do you show the people you work with that they are valued?

We respect their unique worth and encourage them to fulfil their potential.  We achieve this through encouraging personal development, flexible working, open communication, and a few team days that we hold every year where we celebrate our team’s accomplishments.
